As of 29 December 2006:
- After thinking about it for a time, I've decided to try my hand at podcasting. Bear with me, though, since I haven't been able to figure out the RSS feed thing to allow people to subscribe. Still, the menu to the left has the link to The Gauthcast: The Official Bill Gauthier Podcast. Let me know what you think!
As of 9 October 2006:
- From the Dark Discoveries e-mail newsletter:
A quick update on CATALYSTS: I am just waiting on the intro from Tom
Monteleone and the artwork from Dave Emrich and then we are good to
go on getting it rolling! Pre-orders for it are continuing to go
well. Already 160 out of the 250 copies are reserved and it
continues to go quickly. Don't wait too long to grab one for
yourself, as it might be gone! Once again it is a collection of
short stories by our resident columnist Bill Gauthier. It will be a
signed, numbered Trade Paperback of 250 copies with a brand new
Forward by Stoker Award winning author and editor Thomas F.
Monteleone. Featuring 13 stories - both previously published and
brand new - as well as an afterword by Bill. Art by David Emrich.
The cover price is $13.99 and it's looking more like a November
release at this point (I have the next issue of DD due in October so
I have to work around that as well as the wait on contributions).
I am taking pre-orders through the website
and directly and I won't charge you until the book is done!
Shocklines, Clarkesworld Books, Overlook Connection, Bad Moon Books,
Bloodletting Books, Jeff & Joys, Fantastic Literature and many
others will also be carrying it as well. The order page will be up
on the DD website and at the stores very soon and you can always
drop me an email and I can get your info
down now to reserve your copy.
And DD subscribers that order directly from me will get a special
20% off of the cover price! As of 4 August 2006:
Dark Discoveries #8 is done and shipping. This features American Gauthic: Installment 5 -- "Don't Call It a Comeback." You know where to find it, and if not, look below for the links.
I also turned in Installment 6 yesterday, and I think it's a good one. That one will be out in the fall.
Have you preordered Catalysts yet? No? Then get to it! Look at the news item just below this one.
As of 20 June 2006:
I'm happy to finally announce the big news I've been alluding to for the last ten months:
Dark Discoveries Publications will be publishing my first book, a collection of short stories called Catalysts.
It will be limited to 250 signed/numbered copies with artwork by David Emrich and a foreword by Thomas F. Monteleone.
The book will be published as a trade paperback going for $13.99. Subscribers to Dark Discoveries (where my column American Gauthic is published) will get 20% off if they order directly through DDP.
More info can be found in the Upcoming section below.
I'm very excited by this and so is Dark Discoveries Publications editor/publisher James Beach.
Order info can be found here.As of 23 May 2006:
James Beach of Dark Discoveries Publications is having a subscription drive for the great magazine Dark Discoveries. As you know, my column American Gauthic runs within these pages. If he gets a good amount of subscriptions by the end of July, he'll raise the pay for writers. This means, of course, more dough for my column. So keep me out of poverty, folks, and help the magazine do even better. Go to the Dark Discoveries website to subscribe.
As of 2 April 2006:
Dark Discoveries #7 is out. American Gauthic is taking a small break. Fear not, though, because my short story "Inquisitor, Inc." is taking its place, proving, once again, that there is indeed a method behind the madness. If you really need your American Gauthic fix, though, click the link to the left. I've posted all the installments for your reading pleasure (or displeasure, if you're so inclined). Read 'em now, though, because when Dark Discoveries #8 comes out in a few months, all but the very installment will be removed.
As of 23 January 2006:
Dark Discoveries #7 should be out in February. American Gauthic will be taking a small break. Fear not, though, because my short story "Inquisitor, Inc." will take its place, proving, once again, that there is indeed a method behind the madness.
As of 22 December 2005:
New site design. Do you like it? I'm still working out some kinks so bear with me.
As of 2 December 2005:

More info for the Friends of the New Bedford Public Library's Authorfest! is below. Apparently, Gautham is one of the few places on the web where you can get this info.
As of 21 August 2005:
I have now made a page for my column American Gauthic, which appears in Dark Discoveries.
The Best of Borderlands Volumes 1-5 is out. It has fifty stories from a stunning array of writers, including my story "The Growth of Alan Ashley." From their e-mail, a list of some of the people my story will be sitting alongside: Bentley Little, Poppy Z. Brite, Charles L. Grant, F. Paul Wilson, Joe R. Lansdale, Rex Miller, Avram Davidson, Ed Gorman, Whitley Strieber, Dennis Etchison, Ramsey Campbell, Gary A. Braunbeck, Peter Straub, John Farris, David Schow, and Stephen King. The book will be a trade paperback and will have ten stories from each volume of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning Borderlands anthology series. If you bought From the Borderlands and liked it, this is a must have. At $25, it's really a good price. I found out my story would be in this book in January but promised to keep my mouth shut. With yesterday's e-mail, I'm assuming it's okay to spread the news. According to the e-mail, they're also having a pre-publication sale, where the book will be $20...even more reason to click the above link and order a copy.
